Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to examine trust as a fundamental principle without which insurance and other financial services will not perform as expected in the future. The culture of the firm providing financial services is also examined especially in light of the effect of mergers and acquisitions on the corporate culture of the neworganization. Finally, a program of four steps is suggested for building ethics in corporate culture. The Geneva Papers on Risk and Insurance (2001) 26, 367–372. doi:10.1111/1468-0440.00122
