Abstract: Abstract Digital transformation of financial services industry, conceptualized as ‘Fintech’, has gained the attention of practitioners, academicians, and researchers who contributed toward its growth as a multidimensional paradigm. The present research aims to synthesize the extant fintech research using bibliometric analysis and proposes the key research areas and future research directions using content analysis. Using 574 articles published during 2011–2022 from Scopus database, performance analysis has been steered to study production trends, impactful journals, authors, and documents. Further, sample articles are scientifically mapped using keyword co-occurrence analysis and bibliographic coupling to achieve triangulation of results. Scientific mapping leads to the identification of six research clusters (themes) associated with fintech research such as economic development, banking performance, Islamic finance and P2P lending, and in addition to financial inclusion among others. The study also explains the existing research gap which may serve as a valid starting point for further research.
