Abstract:
Abstract This study aimed to examine the influence of community of inquiry (CoI) factors on Vietnamese students’ perception and behavioral intention towards blended learning. Additionally, it explored the moderating effect of their understanding of Covid-19. A mixed-methods approach was adopted. Qualitative research was conducted to refine the survey instrument. Subsequently, a quantitative survey was administered to 308 Vietnamese students. Data were analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling. Findings revealed that teaching and cognitive presence positively impacted students’ perception and behavioral intention. Moreover, understanding of Covid-19 moderated the relationship between perception and intention. However, social presence did not significantly influence either variable. The study’s implications suggest that educational institutions should prioritize strategies to enhance students’ and teachers’ understanding of Covid-19. This can foster positive attitudes and behaviors towards blended learning.
