Palgrave Communications, 2025, vol. 12, issue 1, 1-11

Abstract: Abstract This study investigated the meaning of the place name Ybenbm, which is located in the southwest of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Names may reveal valuable ancient geographical facts. This manuscript follows the historical approach and draws on various sources of data, including books, geographical dictionaries, linguistic dictionaries, travel books, and maps. This study did not obtain a conclusive answer for the meaning of Ybenbm in the Arabic language or its source. The main conclusions are that Ybenbm is a geographical fact, the name Ybenbm is strange, it is not closely connected to us, it may have connections to distant geographical locations on the earth, and further study is required.
