Abstract: Successfully implemented e-learning system brings several advantages into management of educational process if the used methods are implemented correctly and understandably for end users – students. For that purpose, various open source e-learning applications have been developed in last decade. They can be installed easily and offer choices of many accessories and possibilities. This paper discusses an interactive learning management system ILIAS and its interconnection with existing faculty web-based library information service (LIS) in order to offer students a possibility to work on-line using learning content and appropriate literature sources.
