Abstract:
Epicarmo Corbino was an economist, a liberal politician, and a forerunner of environmental studies. He was an economist whose scientific background and ethical faith cannot be related to a particular trust in economic theory. Rather, what is important to him is real life and work experience. In this respect, Corbino occupies a peculiar position, which however is not in contrast with the great tradition of the Italian liberal economists who fought against any form of protectionism. It should be also highlighted the strong interest that Corbino showed towards common goods, and in particular, the environment
