Abstract: The paper is focused on Antonio Pesenti’s attempts to define the lines of a theory of economic policy that, although mainly based on Marxism-Leninism, is not inconsistent with the main tenets of mainstream economics. Our reconstruction is based on Pesenti’s writings on monetary policy before and after his imprisonment, particularly relating to the concept of managed money
