Abstract:
In this paper, we recall the definition of sharecropping given by Sismondi: it is the only legitimate social income because he shares the income equally between all the actors of the production. It is not only necessary to resume the debate on the veracity of social reality described by Sismondi, we must also discuss the idea that for Sismondi, there is also a lack of investment by the owner and by the peasant. In fact, in Italy, in the nineteenth and in the twentieth centuries sharecropping is really an economic and social practice flexible and diverse that not only did redistribute income, it is mainly a practice that had helped to integrate all components of society in various territories by accepting a contribution based on the strengths of each to effectively lead a collaboration between land, capital and labour
