Abstract:
The figure of Diego de Castro (1907-2003), one of the most outstanding personalities of Istria in the 20th century, has been characterized by an extraordinary versatily. De Castro was a famous statistician, an economist, as well as a protagonist of and a great expert on the so-called ‘Trieste Question’. But in his lifetime he also carry out an intense and enduring activity of journalist, publishing on the whole more than five hundred articles. The ‘Triestine article’ published by de Castro on «La Stampa» of Turin between 1948 and 1981 having economic nature constitutes the object of study of the present work.
