Abstract:
Corbino has addressed the issue of war with a multidimensional approach, giving space to the sociological and anthropological reasoning. He may be referred to as a representative of the modern military economic thought. We will see in the script that economists have not devoted their analysis on military matters while considering them extraneous to economic reasoning even though: the resources devoted to the military sector may also have implications in research and development of integrated systems of civil security and civil technologies; military actions are often directed to create stabilization and dialogue between warring countries, also necessaries to establish a proper security level in the capitalists country-systems; political and strategic choices are useful for establishing an international visibility of the country and for the opening of new markets; although the costs of war are involving the fight against terrorism, international piracy, cross-border security, law and order establishment. All important factors to the normal and secure development of economic relations at the global level that Epicarmo Corbino had already outlined through his thoughts on military economy. We will see that the multidimensional approach to war has allowed Corbino, moving from Barone and Pantaleoni footsteps, to deal brightly and clearly the most salient aspects of the economy of defense.
