Abstract:
This paper aims at suggesting some historiographical perspectives on Jacopo Mazzei’s economic thought by devoting special attention to his first studies with G. Toniolo, a family’s friend. Within this context, it would have been crucial for the future activity of Mazzei the hints which Toniolo gave him to analyse international political economy, in particular the English. In his turn, Mazzei transmitted such scientific preferences to A. Fanfani, met in the Catholic University of Milan, who published in the thirties the work Catholicism, Protestantism, and Capitalism (1934).
