Abstract:
This paper explores three aspects of sustainability in upland and coastal resources: the depreciation of natural capital upon which upland farmers and artisanal fishermen depend, the factors affecting the economic sustainability of resource extraction from forests, upland soils and fishery resources and the requirements for sustaining resource conservation efforts at the micro and macro levels.
