Intergenerational Mobility: Evidence from Pakistan Panel Household Survey

Sajid Javed () and Irfan Mohammad

The Pakistan Development Review, 2014, vol. 53, issue 2, 175-203

Abstract: This paper, using data from Pakistan Panel Household Survey 2010, finds evidence for higher (lower) intergenerational immobility (mobility) for Pakistan. The results from transition matrix and regression analysis suggest that the educational, occupational and income status of the son is mostly determined by the socio-economic position of the father.
