Abstract: Valentina Gallo and colleagues provide detailed guidance to authors to help more accurately report the findings of epidemiological studies involving biomarkers. Their guidance covers issues regarding collection, handling and storage of biological samples; laboratory methods, validity and reliability of biomarkers; specificities of study design; and ethical considerations.
