Abstract:
Background: This study investigated the association between statin use and herpes zoster (HZ) occurrence in a population-based case-control study. Methods: Study subjects were retrieved from the Taiwan Longitudinal Health Insurance Database 2000. This study included 47,359 cases with HZ and 142,077 controls. We performed conditional logistic regression analyses to calculate the odds ratio (OR) to present the association between HZ and having previously been prescribed statin.
