Abstract:
Objective: The prevalence of obesity and type 2 diabetes is rapidly increasing worldwide, posing serious threats to human health. This study aimed to evaluate the role of FMT in the treatment of obesity and/or metabolic syndrome and its impact on clinically important parameters. Methods: We searched Medline, Embase, and Cochrane Library databases up to April 31, 2022 and further assessed articles that met the eligibility criteria. Mean differences and 95% confidence intervals were used to analyze continuous data. The I2 statistic was used to measure study heterogeneity. Univariate meta-regression or subgroup analyses were performed to explore the covariates that might contribute to heterogeneity. Potential publication bias was assessed using the Egger’s test.
