Abstract:
France is the state where the political control of constitutionality has found its full consecration, where the opposition to the jurisdictional control of constitutionality was so strong that, when the political control failed, transfer was made directly to the political-jurisdictional control of constitutionality. This paper has attempted to provide an overview of the historical evolution of the control of constitutionality, which was present in the French constitutional system only under its political form for a long time, no matter it was self-control or an actual political control. The institutionalized forms of control of constitutionality are contextualized following the different periods in the history of France.
