Abstract:
More than ever, the European model is based on universal values: liberty, democracy, respect for the human rights and fundamental freedoms and for the rule of law. For the most part, these ideals have been broadly accomplished. However, the fight is still needed for their full completion, even in the framework of the old democracies (Michel, 2001).
