Abstract: This paper analysis the protection of the physical and mental health of workers through the Directive 2003/88/EC (Working Time Directive), analyzing comparative implementation of rules in the UK, Romania and France, incorporating case study in the context of European health policies. Following deployment patterns, the analysis goes further in trying to establish which were the elements that led to differential implementation. Finally we will present the European response to the rules of Directive trying to determine its possible future.
