Abstract: Desi tehnologia RFID nu este nou aparuta, existand dovezi ale utilizarii ei in scop militar inca din timpul celui de-al doilea razboi mondial, in ultimii ani asistam practic la o reinventare a acestei tehnologii, aplicatiile care o utilizeaza intrecandu-se sa-si demonstreze utilitatea practica. Incepand cu micsorarea timpului de asteptare petrecut de clienti la supermarket, sau cu inlaturarea necesitatii de oprire a autovehiculului la barierele de plata a taxei de autostrada, sau pentru plata transportului in comun si pana la posibilitatea gestiunii automatizate a unui parc auto, toate aceste aplicatii concorda la diminuarea timpilor de asteptare inevitabili intr-o societate moderna si imbunatatirea standardului de viata.
