Abstract:
R&D expenditures are key prerequisites for long-term competitiveness of firms in the globalised economy. For Czech and Slovak economies, where the manufacturing industry is of some significance to the export performance, changes in R&D expenditures in business sector, manufacturing industry, and high-tech industry can be an indicator of future competitiveness. The aim of this paper is therefore to compare the changes in R&D expenditures in these sectors, which are essential for competitiveness.
