Trends in the number of insolvency proposals - regional level

Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to analyze trends in the number of insolvency proposals, in the time period from 2008 to 2014. The Act No. 182/2006 Coll. on bankruptcy and its settlement methods (called as Insolvency Act) came into effect in the year 2008 which is also a beginning of the recent global economic crisis which has had undoubtedly its impact on the number of the insolvency proceedings. The development in the number of insolvency proposals will not be evaluated on the national level with macroeconomic context but on the regional level. The aim of the paper is to find out regional disparities among regional courts and their subsidiaries. The authors will follow with possible explanations of detected disparities among courts. The used methods are based on descriptive statistics.
