Abstract: V centru pozorností kognitivních věd jsou poznávací procesy a jejich simulace umělou inteligencí. Poznávací procesy tedy vystupují jako jsoucno, jež je podrobováno zkoumání. Kognitivní vědy nastolují další svébytné otázky ontologického charakteru. Mezi ně patří např. ontologický statut spánku nebo virtuální reality.
