Abstract: The paper is concerned with the population theory of Thomas Robert Malthus. First part outlines the life of Thomas Malthus. Second part analyses his economic theory. Third part examines "An Essay on the Principle of Population" (1798). Forth part deals with Malthusian heritage. Fifth part examines the debate on population growth. Sixth part outlines the population hypothesis of Simon Kuznets.
