Abstract: Th e paper deals with issues of public support of tourism. Besides the theoretical aspects of the public aid, attention is paid to evaluation of spatial eff ectiveness of public funds allocation. It is assumed that the most effi cient use of resources is appropriate to concentrate the support in areas with the greatest tourist attractiveness. Th ese and other socio-economic aspects are examined on data from the far most important program of tourism support
