Regional operational programs as an instrument of tourism support in the Czech Republic

Abstract:
As a result of the implementation of structural policy in the Czech Republic, there has been a signifi cant enhance of support in the fi eld of regional tourism. During the current programming period 2007 ? 2013, a record-breaking amount of money is being invested in tourism. It is therefore a unique opportunity to improve the competitiveness of Czech tourism. Th e article seeks to evaluate the fi rst two years of implementation of regional operational programs, as it is the most important instruments for promoting tourism. Th e authors focus on the substantive and spatial context of the tourism support distribution. Th ey also try to outline some recommendations for more effi cient use of resources during the remaining period.
