Analysis of bonds in the Erzgebirge/ Krušnohoří Euroregion

Abstract: The following paper is a part of the grant project ?Analysis of bonds in the Erzgebirge/ Krušnohoří Euroregion?1. In the beginning, we focus on the topic of borders and their importance within a particular area, also from the perspective of creating local communities and regional identity. Such topics have been researched e. g. by Zich (Zich et al. 2000), Jeřábek (Jeřábek et al. 2001) or Houžvička (Houžvička, Novotný 2007). Furthermore, the paper focuses on cross-border cooperation and the concept of euroregions. The main attention is given to the Erzgebirge/ Krušnohoří Euroregion and its historical development. The theoretical part is supported by a presentation of the research results.
