Abstract:
The article deals with the development of higher education institutions in the Czech Republic after 1990. It is focused particularly on changes in the distribution of higher education institutions and changes in the university education specialization structure. A special attention is paid to the economic education. A case study is devoted to the development of the University of Economics, Prague, the public university focused on the economics and related fields. The article also deals with some changes in the catchment area of this university.
