Foreign Trade on Goods in Central and East European Countries in Context of Economic Crises

Zahraniční obchod zbožím zemí střední a východní Evropy v kontextu světové ekonomické krize

Eva Karpová

Současná Evropa, 2009, vol. 2009, issue 1, 3-22

Abstract: Foreign trade on goods is a very important indicator for the GDP growth of the Central and East European countries. In the region (EU10) the dynamism of exports and imports has become very strong before the Eastern enlargement and the trend has gone on after the year 2004 too. The growth of trade of the EU 10 countries had over headed the trade dynamism of EU 15 countries. More over such a trend has kept on even during the period of crises in 2008. However it is to say that the trade on goods in the Central and East European countries was even so influenced from the crises seriously. Many problems of territorial and commodity structure of exports as well as the low productivity in manufacturing industry have shown themselves. These trends bring certainly important information for solving future concepts of exports - even in post crises periods. The mentioned text should comment some of these facts.
