Rural Tourism, Rural Economy Diversification, and Sustainable Development

Abstract: This paper provides an overview of patterns in farm, agro and rural tourism development in a way of farm, agro and rural economy diversification to achieve economic and environmental sustainability. The importance of rural tourism in the rural economy is increasing by farm, agro and rural economy diversification addressing its multifunctional development. The European Union policies are targeting both, farm and agro diversification as well as rural economy diversification. Farm, agro and rural entrepreneurship are seen as an effective means promoting rural economy development and its long-term sustainability.
