Abstract: [fre] En matière de taux d'emploi dans un métier, on commente généralement le profil transversal de son évolution en fonction de l'âge, une année donnée. On risque ainsi fort d'attribuer à l'âge ce qui est largement un effet de génération. Ici, une méthode sophistiquée permet de visualiser les évolutions longitudinales des taux d'emploi au sein des différentes générations. Les phénomènes de vagues de recrutement au sein de générations très voisines et les dangers qu'ils comportent à long terme pour l'équilibre démographique d'un métier, apparaissent nettement. [eng] Occupations and Generations - When analyzing the rates of employment within an occupational category, the cross section of its trend is generally interpreted in function of age for a given year. However, in doing this, one runs the risk of attributing to age what is actually primarily due to a factor of generation. In this study, a sophisticated method makes it possible to visualize the longitudinal trends of employment rates within different generations. The phenomena of waves of hiring within generations and the dangers which they pose in the long term for the demographic equilibrium of an occupation are brought out clearly. [spa] Oficios y generaciones - En materia de tasa de empleo en un oficio, suele comentarse, por lo general, el perfil transversal de su evolución en función de la edad, para un ano determinado. Obrando así, es factible atribuir a la edad lo que es meramente efecto de generacién. Aquí un metodo complicado facilita una vision de las evoluciones longitudinales de las tasas de empleo en el seno de las diversas generaciones. Los fenómenos de oleadas de contratas en el seno de generaciones muy parecidas y el peligro que representan a largo plazo para el equilibrio demográfico de un oficio, aparecen con claridad.
