Abstract: [eng] One farmer in three is more than 60 years old - The number of farming operations has been decreasing over the last 30 years at a very rapid rate. At the head of many of these operations are farmers who are reaching the age of retirement and the take over of the operations is often uncertain. The birth rate in the farming milieu has declined significantly since the second world war and farmers' children are giving up farming more and more. A projection for 1 990 shows that in the absence of behavioral modifications the reduction of the number of operations will probably accelerate in the years to come. [spa] De cada tres empresarios agricolas uno pasa de los 60 años- El numero de explotaciones agricolas disminuyó de 30 anos acá a ritmo sumanente rápido. Muchos empresarios agricolas son mayores y se van retirando y, a menudo, no esta segura su sucesión : los nacimientos en el medio ambiente agricola descendieron bruscamente desde la guerra, y los hijos de agricultores van abandonando más y más la agricultura. Una proyeccion con miras al año 1990 muestra que ante la carencia de modificaciones que intervengan en los comportamientos, la disminución del número de explotaciones se iria accelerando durante los próximos años. [fre] Le nombre des exploitations agricoles diminue depuis 30 ans à un rythme très rapide. Beaucoup de chefs d'exploitation sont âgés et partent en retraite, et leur succession n'est souvent pas assurée : les naissances en milieu agricole se sont effondrées depuis la guerre, et les enfants d'agriculteurs délaissent de plus en plus l'agriculture. Une projection à l'horizon 1990 montre qu'en l'absence de modifications des comportements, la réduction du nombre des exploitations s'accélérerait dans les années à venir.
