Estimado en 840 mil millones en 1950 y en 5345 mil millones en 1989, el patrimonio en vivienda ha sido multiplicado por seis en un lapso de 40 años (en francos de 1980). Los hogares que poseen actualmente el 80 % del total de las viviendas han sido los primeras beneficiarios de este acrecentamiento espectacular.
