Abstract: [fre] En vingt ans, l'industrie manufacturière française a connu de profonds changements : deux chocs pétroliers suivis d'un contre-choc sont venus se greffer sur des tendances lourdes de modifications de structure. Après dix années de crise suivies d'une période de convalescence, elle présente à la fin des années quatre-vingt un profil modernisé et un nouveau dynamisme. Pour autant, elle a perdu plus d'un million d'emplois et n'a pas su rester en ligne avec la reprise de la croissance mondiale : l'apparition d'un déficit extérieur des biens manufacturés à partir de 1987 est d'autant plus préoccupante qu'elle provient d'un recul des performances à l'exportation sur des marchés porteurs. [eng] Twenty Years of Industrial Growth - In twenty years, the French manufacturing industry went through profound changes: two oil crises followed by a drop in the price of oil were added to strong trends toward structural modifications. In the late eighties, after ten years of crisis followed by a period of convalescence, the manufacturing industry presented a modernized profile and a new dynamism. To do so, it lost more than a million jobs and was not able to keep up with the recovery of world growth: the appearence of a trade deficit for manufactured goods starting in 1987 is all the more worrying as it was caused by a setback in export performance in leading markets. [spa] Veinte años de crecimiento industrial - En veinte años, la industria manufacturera francesa sufrió profundos cambios: dos choques petroleros seguidos de un contra-choque vinieron a añadirse a tendencias graves en cuanto a las modificaciones de estructura. Luego de diez años de crisis seguidos de un período de convalescencia, la industria manufacturera presenta al fin de la década de los ochenta un perfil modernizado y un nuevo dinamismo. Sin embargo, este sector industrial perdió más de un millón de empleos y no supo mantenerse en buena posición frente a la reactivación del crecimiento mundial: la aparición de un deficit exterior de los bienes manufacturados a partir de 1987 es tanto más inquietante cuanto que el mismo proviene de una baja de los resultados de la exportación, en mercados que prometen.
