Abstract: [fre] Résumé Tout au long du XVIIIème siècle, Paris ne cesse de s'accroître. Débordant les limites officielles, la ville envahit ses faubourgs, en dépit des bornes et ordonnances qui interdisent toute construction nouvelle. Vers l'Ouest, au-delà des boulevards, l'espace agricole de la paroisse de la Madeleine-de-la-Ville- l'Evêque, tôt accaparé, devient l'enjeu d'une spéculation effrénée dès lors que la Haute Société se porte au faubourg Saint-Honoré. Le vaste ensemble immobilier, mis en place rue d'Anjou-Saint-Honoré qui se dessine alors, atteste d'une distribution de l'espace domestique résolument moderne ; l'intimité et le confort retenus préfigurent l'appartement bourgeois du siècle suivant. [eng] Abstract Throughout the XVIIIth century Paris keeps on growing. Outgrowing its official limits the City invades the suburbs in spite of the set boundaries and the decrees which forbid any new building. Westwards, beyond the Boulevards, the agricultural lands of the Parish of the Madeleine-de-la-Ville- l'Evêque were rapidly snatched up, being at the centre of frenzied speculation, from the moment that the members of society moved out towards the faubourg St. Honoré. The vast property developments which now began springing up in rue d'Anjou show a definitely modern distribution of domestic space. Intimacy and comfort are essential and anticipate the Bourgeois flat of the following century.
