Abstract: [eng] Abstract : The relation between scientific and technical research is a main historical problem. The example of electrical engeenering in France at the end of the XlXth century and the beginning of the XXth century is analysed. The description of the methodology of the technical instruction is sketched ; then the classification of the technical products supported by the same scientific knowledge is shown to be present in the technical journals. We find the same methodology in J. Fourier ; an inference is then made : it is possible to affirm that a same methodology is present in physical-technical research along all the XlXth century ? [fre] Résumé : Le rapport complexe entre recherche scientifique et recherche technique constitue une interrogation encore d'actualité. Pour essayer d'y répondre, le cas de l'électrotechnique en France à la fin du XIXe siècle et au début du XXe a été choisi. Les outils conceptuels tels qu'ils étaient enseignés et tels qu'ils étaient utilisés par les ingénieurs sont mis en évidence. Cela permet de déceler une classification des objets techniques en fonction des connaissances scientifiques. En conclusion on s'interroge pour savoir s'il s'agit d'une situation propre à l'électrotechnique. On peut montrer que la même méthodologie se trouve chez J. Fourier et qu'elle est présente tout au long du XIXe siècle en physique-technique.
