Abstract:
[eng] Abstract The railways worked in Spain during the second half of the 19th century as an instrument for the settlement of the national market. On this context, the rail network in the Valencian country encouraged the agrarian product development at regional scale. On one hand, commercial growings, such as oranges and wine, were introduced into the international market. On the other hand, the railway constituted a decisive element in the delivery of manure, guano, fertilizers and other inputs which were necessary to improve the specialization and intensification of agriculture.
