Abstract: [fre] Résumé En dépit des séquestres et confiscations de leurs biens à l'étranger, les dirigeants de Rhône-Poulenc sont parvenus à la fois à protéger l'indépendance de leur entreprise et à maintenir l'innovation et la production au meilleur niveau possible. Non seulement, la chimie allemande n'a pu prendre de participation dans son capital, mais encore la société a su préparer les lendemains de guerre en développant des produits de substitution et en comblant son retard dans le domaine de la fabrication du Nylon et de la pénicilline. [eng] Abstract Despite sequestration and forfeiture of the company's assets overseas, the leaders of Rhône-Poulenc managed at the same time to safeguard their firm's independence, and to sustain innovation and production at the highest levels feasible. Not only was the German chemical sector unable to secure a share of its equity ; the firm also showed itself able to prepare for the post-war era, by developing ersatz products, and making good the ground it had lost in the field of Nylon and penicillin production.
