Comment exploiter la microtoponymie ? Méthodologie appliquée à l'onomastique du pays d'Othe

Abstract: [fre] Résumé La microtoponymie est une discipline auxiliaire de l'histoire et de la linguistique, matière inestimable pour percevoir les mouvements infimes de l'évolution des finages. Une méthodologie dans ce domaine doit prendre en compte deux notions fondamentales : l'expression textuelle qui entoure le relevé microtoponymique pour lui livrer un contexte descriptif et la situation sur le terrain afin de visualiser la relation avec le signifié. En développant des exemples de l'histoire de certains sites du pays d'Othe sénonais, on perçoit mieux la nécessité d'une étude diachronique qui fait ressurgir les étapes de l'évolution du paysage. Elle serait au moins aussi importante que le plan synchronique, simple pôle d'observation de la dialectologie. Les lieux-dits forment en fait un vivier, dont il est prudent d'extraire une matière préalablement travaillée. Toute utilisation purement synchronique réduit à coup sûr le champ d'action d'une véritable ethnographie linguistique. [eng] Abstract Microtoponimy is a complementary discipline of history and linguistic an invaluable means of perceiving the slighest movements in the evolution of the "finages". Any methodology in this particular field must take into account two basics notions : the textual expression which surrounds the microtoponycal reading to give it its descriptive context and the scenery so as to visualize the relationship with the signified. As we study examples of the history of some areas in the "Pays d'Othe sénonais" we realize more the necessity of a diachronic study which would bring to light the various stages in the evolution of the landscape. This study should be at least as important as one on the synchronie level, simple observation centre of dialectololgy. In fact the localities form a source of information which we must use with care. Any purely synchronie use would definitely reduce the sphere of activity of a real linguistic ethnography.
