Abstract: [fre] Résumé Dans cet article, l'auteur présente les positions de problèmes et la méthode à suivre pour une étude fructueuse des notions de faubourgs et de banlieues dans leurs significations très diverses. Par l'étude qu'il fait, en particulier de la réalité parisienne, et les exemples qu'il nous en donne, il nous montre combien celle-ci est complexe dans son évolution et ses aspects simultanés. [eng] Abstract In this article, the author presents the positions of problems and the method that should be followed for fruitful of the very diverse significations of the notions of "faubourgs " and suburbs. Through his study, concentrated particulary on the reality in Paris, he shows, through the examples given, how complex this reality is, in both its evolution and silmutaneous aspects.
