Abstract: [fre] Résumé Un ambassadeur est responsable de la gloire du roi son maître. Tel est le cas de celui de Louis XIV près la Porte ottomane, le marquis de Nointelpuis le sieur de Guilleragues. Mais le premier perdit des honneurs que le second dû regagner à grand-peine pour siéger à nouveau sur le sofa à la même hauteur que le vizir. [eng] Abstract An ambassador is in charge of the King's glory abroad. It was the case of Louis XIV' s one by the Ottoman Sultan, the marquis de Nointel and then the sieur de Guilleragues. But the first lost some honours the second had to regain to seat again as in the part on the sofa near and as high as the vizir.
