Histoire et philosophie: une analyse de la notion de santé

Abstract: [fre] Résumé Puisqu'elle concerne à la fois l'homme et le monde, qu'elle est traversée par les problèmes de l'ordre et de l'équilibre, la notion de santé mérite définition. Mais de qui peut-on l'attendre? De prime abord, cette explicitation semble revenir aux sciences médicales ; cependant, une analyse des approches de ce type montrera qu'elles privilégient les problèmes de physiologie et de pathologie ou les problèmes politiques et sociaux d'hygiène et de prévention, et donc, évacuent la notion de santé comme non-opératoire. Reliant biologie, société et politique, les sciences sociales procèdent à une approche moins morcelée sans toutefois parvenir à en fournir une définition satisfaisante. En conclusion, on montrera la nécessité d'une étude de l'évolution de la notion, que seule permet une approche transdisciplinaire: une philosophie historienne ou une histoire philosophique de la santé restent donc à produire. [eng] Abstract As it concerns both Man and the World, and it is interwoven with questions of order and balance, the notion of health deserves to be defined. But where can this definition be found? At first sight, it would seem to derive from medical science: an analysis of this type of approach, however, will reveal that the questions of physiology and pathology or the political and social questions of hygiene and prevention are favoured, and thus this notion will be rejected as non-functional. In linking biology, society and politic the social sciences lead to a less partitioned approach, without nevertheless being able to provide a satisfactory definition. To conclude, the need for a study of the evolution of the notion will be seen, which alone will enable a cross-disciplinary approach: a philosophy of health from the historical viewpoint, or a philophical history of health, remains therefore to be written.
