Abstract: [fre] La République de Weimar est née de la Grande guerre et elle en fut stigmatisée jusqu'à sa fin. Ses leaders furent sujets au soupçon d'avoir «poignardé» dans le dos l'armée non défaite et d'avoir inutilement signé un «traité de la honte», celui de Versailles, en 1919. Les foyers d'anciens soldats, appuyés par les partis de droite et la Reichswehr créèrent d'abord «l'ordre» en combattant la gauche révolutionnaire, puis ils aidèrent à déstabiliser la République jusqu'à la prise du pouvoir par ceux qui combattirent le «système de Versailles» de la façon la plus énergique: Hitler et les nazis. [eng] The Weimar Republic, being at least partially an offspring of the Great War, had been stigmatized by this very war until her final collapse in 1933. Her leaders were initially suspected and accused to have stabbed an "undefeated army" in the back and signed the shameful treaty of Versailles. In order to guarantee public order and security the German Freecorps, first helped the Republic to overcome communist unrest. But, supported by the political Right and the Reichswehr, they effectively helped to destabilize the Republic and thus paved the road for Hitler and the Nazi Party.
