[eng] We made a reconstruction of the families of the elite of Bordeaux to study the evolutions and permanences of their demographic behaviours between the end of the 17th century and the beginning of French Revolution. Although this population is socially rather homogeneous, there is an important diversity in their behaviours, with in particular the pioneer role of the nobility in the birth- control.
