Le discours de La Bourdonnaye sur l'amnistie (11 novembre 1815). Un archétype du rôle des conflits de mémoire dans la marginalisation de l'extrême-droite

Abstract: [eng] The famous speech, delivered by the deputy La Bourdonnaye in November 1815, at the beginning of the second Restoration, can be considered as an archetypal model, which precociously reveals a political far right temperament. It is particularly characterized by a deep propensity to compulsively revive memory conflicts, notwithstanding the consequent political marginality this will entail. By asking for "irons, executioners and tortures" against the main troublemakers of the Hundred Days, by way of an amnesty, the ultra-royalist member of Parliament intends to use this last short interlude as an indictment of the French Revolution and definitively get rid of its legacy, through a fully Utopian will of retrospective action, which is all the more paradoxical as it seems to mime to the point of writing a pastiche of the revolutionary prose, particularly that of Jean-Paul Marat himself. [fre] Le célèbre discours prononcé par le député La Bourdonnaye en novembre 1815, au début de la seconde Restauration, peut faire figure de modèle archetypal, mettant précocement à nu un tempérament politique d'extrême-droite. Celui-ci se caractérise notamment par une forte propension à raviver de manière compulsive les conflits de mémoire, en faisant fi de la marginalisation politique qui en découle à terme. En réclamant ainsi, en guise d'amnistie, «des fers, des bourreaux, des supplices» contre les fauteurs des Cent- Jours, le parlementaire ultra-royaliste entend en vérité ins- trumentaliser ce court interlude pour refaire le procès de la Révolution française et en liquider définitivement l'héritage, par une volonté utopique de rétroaction d'autant plus paradoxale, qu'elle semble mimer jusqu'au pastiche la prose révolutionnaire, en particulier celle de Jean-Paul Marat en personne.
