Abstract: [fre] Rainelli - A propos des découpages de l'industrie.. Les découpages de l'industrie peuvent être envisagés selon différentes optiques : secteurs, typologie de firmes, groupes. La possibilité étudiée ici est celle d'un regroupement des secteurs selon un critère d'homogénéité des conditions économiques et financières. Cette tentative est critique par rapport à celles fondées sur la destination de la production : il est montré que les groupes de secteurs qui composent l'industrie peuvent être interprétés en termes des conditions de la concurrence in-tra-sectorielle. Ce nouveau découpage de l'industrie possède des caractéristiques de stabilité temporelle qui permettent d'envisager son utilisation à des fins de politique industrielle, mais aussi sa prise en compte comme une des approches possibles de la méso-analyse. [eng] M. Rainelli - Concerning the dividing up of industry.. Various approaches are possible for splitting up the industry and defining the relevant sub-groups : sectors, types of firms, groups. It is here proposed to regroup the industrial sectors on the basis of their homogeneity as regards the economic and financial conditions. Criticizing the approaches based on the destination of production, the paper shows that the sub-groups can be analyzed in terms of the intra-sectoral competitive process. Defined that way, the sub-groups appear to be stable through time, which makes it possible to use them for industrial policy purposes, but also to take account of them for the purpose of "meso-analysis".
