Abstract: [eng] What is the role ot the financial groups in the recent changes ot the capitalist system ? This article gives an answer to this question on the basis of the study of the Paribas group. Paribas is analysed in terms of structure, power and growth. The study concludes that financial groups assume three main functions in contemporary capitalism : control, planning and regulation. [fre] Quelle est la fonction du capital financier dans les transformations récentes des systèmes productifs français et mondial ? Cet article a tenté de répondre à la question en partant de l'exemple du groupe Paribas examiné sous trois angles respectifs de la structure, du pouvoir, et de la croissance. Le groupe financier assurerait ainsi trois fonctions : le contrôle, la planification (ou le guidage), et la régulation des systèmes productifs.
