Abstract: [eng] The first part of the paper contains comparision of technological cornpetitiveness indices based either on patents registered in the U.S or on expenditures The paper then goes on analyzing the changes which has been affecting the technological competitiveness of the main industrial countries over the period 1963-76. [fre] L'article compare les indices de compétitivité technologique, calculés à partir de données relatives, d'une part aux brevets déposés (aux E.U.), et d'autre part aux dépenses de R & D. Il étudie ensuite les . modifications intervenues en ce qui concerne la compétitivité technologique des principaux pays développés, sur la période 1963-1976.
