Abstract: [fre] L'objet de cet article est de présenter un modèle détaillé de la théorie de l'organisation industrielle (économie industrielle) de la multinationalisation de la firme, et d'affiner et de tester cette théorie (qui a été établie principalement par les auteurs anglo-saxons), à partir d'une analyse empirique systématique des implantations industrielles françaises en Amérique du Nord, afin d'en extraire les logiques dominantes d'internationalisation horizontale et verticale. La principale conclusion est que l'investissement direct, dans le contexte de l'implantation industrielle française en Amérique du Nord, n'est pas lié au seul comportement oligopolistique. [eng] The subject of this article is to permit a detailed model of the industrial organization theory of the multinationalization of the firm and to refine and test this theory (mainly set up by the Anglo-Saxon authors) with a systematic empirical analysis of the French industrial investments in North America, in order to determine the dominant horizontal and vertical internationalization logics. The main conclusion, is that direct foreign investment, in the context of the French industrial investments in North America, is not linked to the sole oligopolistic behavoir.
