Abstract: [fre] Le travail présenté tente d'étudier le rapport existant entre la taille et la rentabilité au sein de la grande entreprise espagnole. En ce qui concerne la taille, nous partons d'une analyse multicritère réalisée au cours de divers travaux empiriques antérieurs en recourant à l'analyse factorielle. En fonction des modèles économétriques contrastés, nous manifestons l'absence de corrélation entre la taille et la rentabilité pour notre échantillon de grandes entreprises. Cette conclusion qui s'appuie sur une démonstration empirique vient s'ajouter aux autres travaux européens concernant la problématique posée par le rapport entre la dimension et les différentes variables de l'entreprise. [eng] The purpose of this paper is to analyse the relationship between size and profitability in Spanish large corporations. Corporate size is analysed following a multicriteria approach based on previous studies carried out by the authors by means of the application of factor analysis.. On the basis of the several econometric models tested by the authors, they conclude that there is no significant correlation between size and profitability in the sample of large Spanish corporation utilized for the project.. This conclusion brings new empirical evidence about the relationships of size with other variables representing the behavior of modem corporations.
